Feb 19 - General Thoughts
So here we are on the other side of the dark and scary hole. I took quite a bit of time off from comedy because I wasn't enjoying it anymore. Every show was a struggle to try to come up with something that I thought the audience would enjoy. I had some hint of what was wrong after the wedding. I did a show with no preparation and talked about my wedding. The show went great, but it went great because I was having a great time telling people these things that amused me.

So the upshot of all this is, I've done a few shows recently, and at each one I had a great time. The audiences didn't always get what I was talking about, but they got off on how much fun I was having. Now I can't wait till the next show. Which is Friday.

Another thing that was getting in the way of my comedy was that I was working way too much. I was doing 50-60 hours a week at work and just had no energy left. That's not a problem right now as I was "downsized" on Monday. (YEAH!) So now I have time to put the new comedy page together. Which is why you are able to read this now.

So the question for the day is...Can you have a comedy career and a real job at the same time? I don't think you can. I mean, you have to eat. You need a day job, but I have been working on my computer career and my comedy career at the same time. And the computer career has been winning. I'm afraid it will go on winning for some time. Hopefully, my next job will be less demanding, so I can spend more time on comedy. But I have obligations. My comedy career may suffer, but I'm happy where I am.

Cool stuff I found on the beach.
The day I got "downsized" my wife and I went for a walk on the beach. Below is a picture of the stuff I picked up.
